Research task/Response to text/Create task (Topic: William Shakespeare)

Task description: In this task we had to research William Shakespeare and also do a Response to text about William Shakespeare. If you don’t know what a response to text is, it’s basically questions that my teacher gives me and we have to answer it in an article and also we had to do a create task. For the create task we had to animate William Shakespeare walking down a stage because he’s a playwright anyway’s at Rm 6 we had to use Photopea and that’s an website that can animate and do work and here’s my Research task,Response to text and my create task

Recount Writing (Immersion Assembly)

Task: In this Task we had to do a recount about the immersion assembly. we have to write all about everything that the teachers did and here’s mine!

 

On the first day of school Pt England School had an Immersion assembly at Pes school hall. Teachers did plays and stories to show the children what they will be learning about this term. Every team went up on the stage and performed or they would put a little movie for us to watch. 

 

First Mr Burt and Mrs Nua and Mr Jay and also Mr Somerville they all dressed up and it was funny. They all dressed cool and very silly. After that the teachers did plays by each team! And they were Amazing!

 

For Team 1 they guessed the emotions and it looked like a tv show! But anyways they guessed the emotion by songs and there were 4 contestants and they had to try and win the gold. They all guessed it right but there was a twist: nobody won! But the owner of the game won and she had all the gold for herself.

 

After that team 2 they did a story about kiwi saving the forest it was a cool book back in the days they did a movie and it was about kiwi having his/her rainbow wing and he/her was flying everywhere but suddenly the insects and bugs were destroying the trees so the god of trees called the birds he said “everybody the trees are dying can anyone help!” They asked every bird but they all denied it was just kiwi they asked kiwi and he hesitated but he took a deep breath and agreed to help so the god of trees told him his/her wings would fade away so kiwi wings fade away and he saved the forest! What a good story it was.

 

My Personal favourite was team 3 because they did matilda but first it was the original but it changed to musical. It was the part when they did the chocolate cake part in the movie and the part I really liked was when Mr Toa got a piece of cake and put on Mrs Moala. It was disgusting but funny too! 

 

Next  team 4 did charades about emotions. They were angry, sad and other emotions and it was cool. I kinda liked it and they had lots of emotions. After every play and stories the Immersion assembly finished and we all went back to class and did our learning.

 

Finally team 5 was my second favourite. They did a play about cinderella! It was very cool and Cinderella was Mr Moran! Everybody was laughing and the storyteller was Mr Wise man and the story was great!

 

 

Writing ( Maui and the sun)

Task description: Today in Rm 6 literacy  we wrote about a story about Maui and the sun. In Rm 6 we all got into buddy’s and talk about Maui what happen in the story and lots of stuff. Come check out my writing its very cool!

 

Once upon a time there was a man named Maui and he had 4 brothers. One day Maui decided to go fishing with his brothers. While walking to the sea it was already the afternoon but they didn’t care. By the time they arrived at the sea it was already night time. It was frustrating that the sun had set so fast, so they went back home angry.

 

Maui was mad and yelling at the sun because the sun was too quick and it kept zooming across the sky so he came up with a plan to craft some ropes to capture the sun known as Tana-nui-te-ra so he told his 4 brothers and they agreed. The plan was to make ropes so they went home and craft ropes out of flax and while crafting their ropes they prayed to god to make the ropes strong, strong enough to hold the Tana-nui-te-ra. 

 

After finishing the ropes they travelled into the creepy dark long night so the sun won’t see them approaching him so they travelled and travelled and finally felt a feeling there were almost there, their feet were burning, body was sweating and temperature very HIGH! So they walked and walked and eventually made it.

 It was right there so they made a wall out of clay and the sun rises up Maui told them to wait for his signal so they waited and when Maui saw the sun eyes the signal was out the 4 brothers throwed the ropes some were shocked because the sun didn’t burn so the 4 brothers pulled the ropes and Maui got his grandfather jawbone and stood on top of the wall clay and hit the sun aka Tana-nui-te-ra and the sun slowly got weak and the sun yelled “You will kill Tana-nui-te-ra!” Maui replied yelling “No i will not kill you but i will make you move more slowly” the sun got weak and later on the 4 brothers went home and the sun moved slowly everyday.

Create Task (Myth and legends Maui)

Task description: Today in Rm6 we have been learning about myths and legends and we were talking about Maui, Maui and the fish, Maui and the sun and Maui and the fingers of fire. In Rm 6 we all talked about Maui what he looks like and lots of things. Come check out my create task. We have drawn Maui what we think he looks like it’s pretty cool!
